She is best known for being a contestant on Season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race. But if we are going to look at this story, there’s no way to forget how it took 6 years of this bullshit until her first big public controversy and how Raven was involved, both indirectly and directly, in this whole situation. Tatianna is an American drag performer, hair stylist, make-up artist and performing artist hailing from Falls Church, Virginia. Tyra has, for sure, one hell of a lot of anger inside, and has voiced so many questionable or straight-up wrong statements (and is doing it today like no other). And for years she painted MUCH DARKER than she really is, and some will still go "Oh, that's just her tan". She can go on with the “no chocolate, no rice” bullshit, and people will still make excuses about “being honest about preferences”.

Tbh, Raven can do whatever she wants at this point, and people will defend her no matter what. You can’t start this shitshow, do nothing to solve it, empower it, and then go like “Oh, I grew up, got over it. It is also funny how some can say that “Raven is acting more mature, she got over this” and yadda yadda, as if there was something for her to get over.
Hell, there were people saying that she only won because people pitied her son daring to involve a child into all of this. As Raven acknowledged, 'It's a crazy thing to wrap your head around when you are responsible for getting the queen of drag into drag.' In 2020, the Television Academy recognized the Season 2 star's impressive work on the long-running reality show when Raven nabbed the Emmy for Outstanding Contemporary Makeup For A Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality. So, for the subsequent years, you could come to many viewing parties or go on the internet and easily hear people call Raven a"true" drag superstar amidst an unfathomable amount of excuses for her behaviour, but never for Tyra's. And let's not get started on the blacklisting rumors. I mean, remember when Raven wrote “keep your eyes on the stars, you’ll never be one” on the mirror? And by that not only invited her following to discredit Tyra’s win, but also validated what she was already receiving during the season?Īs she stated in many interviews that there was indeed bad blood between them that she was trying to process HER LOSS and was pissed for "coming so far and losing" but never acknowledged the consequences of her actions. And how it all fueled this shitstorm of hatred that’s been going on since 2010. I wish those who are asking "Why is Tyra so obsessed with Raven?" would remember the latter's behaviour during and after S2.
